Every year when fall rolls around I get in the mood for everything pumpkin.
The pumpkin pie, the pumpkin ice cream, and, of course, the pumpkin spice lattes.
This is about the only time of year I feel the urge to go to a coffee shop to get my favorite drink.
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE coffee shops and their fancy coffees, but they can be quite expensive.
Not to mention, the ingredients aren’t the best either.
That is ok though, because it is a treat, and treats don’t have to be healthy.
However, if you can recreate a pumpkin spice latte at home, I am not going to argue!
The only problem with this latte is that I will be drinking more that my one a year if I would have to buy it.
I haven’t had too many boughten coffees in my life, however, every time I have one, I am blown away with how sweet they can be and how bad they make me feel after drinking them.
So, enter homemade healthy iced pumpkin spice latte!
I am sure you will love this latte every bit as much as I do, just be careful because you will probably be going back for more!

The ingredients
Coffee
This recipe uses 1/2 cup of strong brewed coffee, but there are several options you can use instead. Pick one of the coffee options from the list.
- 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee,chilled
- 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee, chilled
- 1/4 cup cold brew
- 1 shot expresso
- 2 shots expresso
Milk
For this recipe use your favorite kind of milk. Feel free to use dairy milk, almond or coconut milk, or oat milk. You will need 1 cup.
Pumpkin Puree
Make your own pumpkin puree or buy a can of it. Don’t skimp on the pumpkin, that is what this latte is all about! We are going all in and adding 3 tablespoons.
Sweetener
For this latte you can use maple syrup (my personal favorite), honey, or sugar. These more natural sweeteners give you the delicious sweetness while adding some nutrition.
If you opt for the sugar, try using coconut sugar or an unrefined sugar.
Adjust the sweetness to your taste. This latte uses 1 tablespoon, but add more or less to your taste buds.
Vanilla
Add 1/2 teaspoon of a good quality vanilla extract.
Pumpkin Pie Spice
You will want to add 1/2 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice for this latte. If you don’t have any, just add some cinnamon, a dash of nutmeg, cloves, and ginger.
Whipped Cream
Not essential, but umm, yeah I’m pretty sure it is essential. Dollop whipped cream onto your finished latte and sprinkle with more pumpkin pie spice for that coffee house experience.

Homemade whipped cream
Make your own whipped cream to take this latte to an even higher level!
In a small bowl add 1/4 cup heavy cream and 1 teaspoon of sugar or honey. With a hand mixer, mix until the cream turns into whipped cream.
Notes
If you do not have a blender, you can also use a hand held frother or immersion blender to make this latte.
To enjoy this later in the day, don’t add ice. Pour it into a jar with a lid and store it in the fridge. Before drinking, give it a shake and pour over ice, top with whipped cream and pumpkin spice.
